Sicalisa Foundation builds another house

NGCULWINI – 6icalisa )oun dation, under the leader ship of 6enator Tony 6ib and]e continues to thrive in its mission of making life better for the needy ema6wati in rural areas.

The )oundation, in partnershi­p with (swatini%ank, on )riday launched and commission­ed the start of a building proMect for a child headed household in Mantshonga, 1gcul wini. This is the second house where 6icalisa )oundation has partnered with the bank. The house is )ounda tion’s building proMect since its

th formation.

6etsabile 6ihlongony­ane, years old, who has an eye disability lives with her two children and four of her older sister’s children. %oth her par ents died leaving behind the two of them.

6he was left to take care of the chil dren after her older sister purchased the land and left them. They only managed to erect a stick and mud structure for shelter.

BEGGING

It was revealed during the launch of the proMect that the family survive, through begging for food and the eldest child who is in *rade also made extra money for food through herding cattle for community mem bers.

6icalisa )oundation took interest on the plight of the children and made a commitment to assist them by build ing a solid structure to accommodat­e them. The proMect is set to cost (

6enator 6iband]e thanked (swatin i%ank for the support they gave to the proMect. He revealed that there were other partners who were a part of 6i calisa )oundation.

6iband]e assured the family and community members that the proMect would be completed in less than two months, to ensure that the family re ceived the house as soon as posible.

³:e would like to thank everyone who supported the initiative, espe cially (swatini%ank. This is the sec ond time we are partnering with the bank and we are hoping that when we come back to hand over the key we will be with them again. :e want to build a bigger house to accom modate the seven family members. This is the first time we are building a accommodat­ion for a child headed family as we usually build for the el derly,” he said.

6iband]e further thanked um phakatsi of the area for giving them an opportunit­y to build the house. He said they were also going to build a toilet for the family.

“As a bank we were touched by a presentati­on that was made by the Senator and Sicalisa, hence we jumped at the opportunit­y to assist in building the structure. This is our own special way of appreciati­ng our customers as a bank, through taking care of the needy,” he said.

Dlamini further implored the community to continue assisting the children and parenting them. He stated that as the only bank that was proudly Swati, they were excited to assist emaSwati through organisati­ons such as Sicalisa.

Indvuna Yenkhundla Njalo Dlamini, thanked all the partners for their work and said as inkhundla they were excited to partner with Sicalisa in the project. Dlamini said the inkhundla was committed to making life better for the people.

“We are still shocked at how Sicalisa found out about the family but we are grateful and thankful to God at the same time that they found us. We know how hard the foundation work and we have been following their work in the media.

ENCOURAGE

“The situation was bad and Sicalisa came and showed love. I want to encourage the family to remain united and not to be divided by the blessing the Lord has give them in such a time,” he said.

Setsabile Sihlongony­ane thanked the foundation and EswatiniBa­nk for supporting them as a family and promised that they would remain united.

“We were not even sure what to do or where to go when the rainy season comes. This is good news to us and we appreciate what the bank and the foundation have done for us,” she said.

Mtfongwane­ni Member of Parliament (MP) Roy Fanourakis through the inkhundla also donated a 5 000 litre water tank to assist in building the house.

Sicalisa Foundation, is a non-profit organisati­on that provides meaningful charitable programmes for the destitute, less privileged and the elderly people in society.

The mission of the organisati­on is to provide meaningful support by establishi­ng unique charity programmes. The foundation offers a dynamic and evolving programme that incorporat­es other forms.
