‘Bull’ U-15s cruise to 6-1 victory, stay top
EZULWINI - Mbabane Highlanders Under-15 boys team are having a good time in the Pick n Pay Eswatini Kick-Off Under-15 Soccer Tournament. Led by their passionate Coach, Phumlani ‘Kenny’ Motsa, they hammered Ezulwini Aces FC 6-1 in the round robin mini league played at Ezulwini Catholic Primary School Ground, yesterday.
The two sides had played to a 1-all draw in the first round. Highlanders are leading the chasing pack with 16 points and are left with four games.
The star player Mthokosizi Dlamini scored a brace as they had a field day against their rivals. Interestingly, Dlamini has scored 19 goals in six games under the Highlanders colours, while his team has gone six games unbeaten.
They boast so much talent and look as clear favourites to progress to the next stage of the tournament. Coming second in the log standings is Emaselele, who were held to a goalless draw by Golden Kings.
The former are on 11 points after six games, while the latter toppled Ezulwini Aces from the third spot as they now have eight points while Aces are on seven points after six games.
In other results under the Crescent PnP, Ezulwini FC humbled X-Eleven 4-1 to jump to the fifth spot from the bottom of the log. They now have six points, while X-Eleven dropped to the bottom with three points.
“I think we did not play well despite that we scored goals. I would say we were just lucky to score those goals. If we are to win the league we need to improve, but I am positive we will win it.”
“We tried our best but we opened up spaces in the back. That is why they scored the goals. We are positive about winning the remaining four games.”
