MBABANE – There was joy and celebration yesterday at Mahlalekhukhwini House at Ezulwini when 21-year-old Nonhle Kunene scooped the E50 000 grand prize money.

Kunene was one of over 11 MTN customers who received cash prizes as the company continues with the WinaManje promotion where all MTN customers automatically qualify each time they buy MTN data and airtime.

The winner when asked by this reporter as to how she was going to use her winnings, said it was difficult to clearly state her plans at that moment, as she was still in shock but visibly happy. “I can however, say that the money came at a time when I was in serious challenges. One thing for sure I will use part of the money to start a poultry business at home as it has always been my dream,” said Kunene.

According to Meshack Maseko who is MTN Senior Manager, using your Mobile Money (MoMo) account to buy data or airtime increased the points that are credited into your number.

After buying the data or airtime, points are credited to your number which gives you more chances to be picked as winner of multiple prizes under the promotion.

Maseko clarified to the participants that anyone who purchased data or airtime qualifies for the competition.

Others who were winners in the competition were five airtime vendors who excelled and topped them all and went home with vouchers of E1 000 each.

Among the E1 000 voucher winners were Vuma Myeni, Eric Da Fonseca, Bonsile Khumalo, Thebumusa Manana and Thandukwazi Zwane.

Meanwhile Sakhile Dlamini (Manzini Region), Nkwalini Mobile Money from Hhohho Region, Yenzi’s Mobile Money in Lubombo Region and Lomthandazo Zanele Mamba from Shiselweni Region received cash prize monies ranging from E1 000 to E2 000 for outclassing other vendors in selling MTN products.

“Since the promotion was launched on July 20, 2022, MTN has already dished out a variety of prizes randomly which ranged from airtime and cash vouchers,” said Maseko.

Maseko said the competition was still ongoing as more cash and prizes would be won.
