M- Due to popular demand, the sit-down Amigos Restaurant is now taking the delicious taste of Amigos to Manzini.

The newly-introduced Amigos Express has been designed to cater for the busy traveller, people looking for delectable quick meals and also offers tasty breakfasts to start your day, all at value for money prices.

Amigos Express is situated at TotalEnergies Rusi Nazarene, Manzini. Whether sit in or takeaway, Amigos Express is here to ensure your on-the-go day does not stop. Operating hours are 7am–11pm Mondays–Saturdays, and 8am– 10pm on Sundays.

The restaurant was established in November 2021, after it disfranchised from the South African-owned Adega Restaurants franchise. It is 100 per cent Swati female-owned and has retained all the wonderful management and friendly staff during the changeover from Adega.

Speaking to Comfort Simelane, the Amigos Express manager during a food tasting event on Thursday at the newly-opened eatery, he said: “We are no longer a franchise, but we have chosen to maintain the standards

set by franchisers. Not being linked to a franchise allows us to change our menu every six months depending on what clients suggest.”

“As we speak, we have an extensive menu from authentic Portuguese chicken to seafood. But since we are an express, our seafood is limited to hake and prawns but there is a larger selection at our restaurant at The Gables”, he said.

The restaurant owner, Portia Dlamini, told guests who had attended that they supply platters and would like corporates to see what they have to offer.

“The food is just too nice,” she said. “We would like to thank TotalEnergies for partnering with us.

“This is our first express and hopefully we will open other stores in other TotalEnergies filling stations as well,” Dlamini said.

Sindisile Horton from TotalEnergies said this was part of their strategy to offer various services at their service stations, not just fuel. “The new Amigos Express is in line with our drive to offer our customers a holistic experience. Service stations that we build will have a quick service restaurant from now on.”

It is worth noting that the Amigos Restaurant at The Gables remains fully operational for sit down meals, take-aways and functions. Operating hours are 12pm9pm on Mondays–Saturdays, and 12pm–5pm on Sundays. The express’ trading hours are 7am till 10pm. At the moment, deliveries are limited to office blocks in town.
