MALKERNS – International superstar, Uncle Waffles gave an electrifying performance for the Dragons Den show on Friday evening, after having left the local decks, to hoist Eswatini’s flag globally.

Born Lungelihle Zwane, the beautiful and talented DJ packed her fans at the at the House on Fire lawns in Malkerns on Friday. This was her long awaited homecoming show. Zwane had also mentioned in an interview at the venue how she had last performed in the kingdom in October 2021.

The show, which was scheduled to start at 6pm had a few technical issues which led to performance delays by some scheduled artists. However this did not deter the fans, who were there for a fun time.During the show a few fans were spoken to about their views on the show. Vumile Dlamini said: “I really don’t care what happens when but me and my gang are here to see Waffles.” She added how Zwane was an inspiration to them as she made it on the international stage and followed her passion.

The first performers on the night were some amazing locals, namely DJ Tap,who was first on the decks setting the tone for Amarii, Miss Tee and DJ Thubillion.

The MC’s of the night, Onicah and Mtha Forever kept the crowd entertained throughout the night. The first South African act was Kamo Mphela, who certainly stole the show with her three main dancers. She was met with screams of appreciation from the audience and she left them wanting more.

Uncle Vinny closely followed and he did not disappoint. The talented TXC duo followed but left the stage before they could play long due to sound glitches that interrupted their performance.

The crowd was quite disappointed as they murmured among themselves, but the night was saved by SA Hip Hop DJ Venom who wasn’t fazed by the glitches and gave an epic set which was right before Uncle Waffles set.

When Uncle Waffles hit the decks, the star gave an energetic performance, with good sounds and dance moves while deejaying, just like she is famously known for. She played for over 40 minutes and among her fans was her family which included her sister, cousins, mum and grandmother. Before leaving the stage she shared these words with her fans, “I am hoping this inspires you and makes you realise that dreams do come true.”
