PM PASSING THE BUCK

(1$7256 are Tuite correct in calling out government on its laid back attitude towards the volatile socio political situation in the kingdom.

Everyone is living in fear but to those in leadership positions, it is as if all is well. 1ot all is well.

The country is in an embarrassing social mess that has the potential to even drive existing and prospective investors away.

Just like Senator 0khululi 'lamini said on Wednesday, emaSwati are living in fear because they do not know what will happen next and to whom.

2n one hand, there are people killing State security officers with impunity while on the other, houses, homes and other property are being burnt to ashes at night.

2rdinary citi]ens feel unsafe be cause, in the absence of police of ficers who now fear for their lives, they only see each day by trusting *od or their ancestors to protect them.

Even well known conservatives like Senator Sigombeni ðuka 'lamini are concerned about the lack of safety and security in the country.

Senate gave Prime 0inister P0 &leopas 'lamini seven days from Wednesday, to provide a written re sponse regarding what government was doing to ensure that emaSwati were safe.

Even that is a long time because the programme of action of the attackers remains a mystery. $ lot could have happened by the time the P0 returns to the +ouse.

+opefully, when he does, he would have had time to rethink his asser tion that the people committing these destructive acts are foreigners.

Even though most emaSwati do not know the killers and arsonists, the reason for these attacks is an open secret.

These people are demanding the promised national dialogue.

If they are not emaSwati, they are carrying out these sporadic attacks to aid locals who have resorted to such drastic means to force govern ment’s hand.

Labelling them foreigners and threatening to enlist the assistance of Interpol is just passing the buck. It can never be a permanent solution.
