No ‘Manyovu’ debut for ‘Bull’ today
MThe wait
BABANE – continues.
Mbabane Highlanders may have secured former Royal Leopard player Bonginkosi ‘Manyovu’ Dlamini but fans will have to wait a little longer before they see him play.
It is understood that Leopard could not release his required paperwork on time after Angola’s Sagrada Esperanca had sent it to them. This essentially means that Highlanders have still not secured his international clearance to be able to register the winger.
It had been hoped by many, a support of the team, including his coach Dumsani ‘DU’ Makhanya, that he would make his official debut this afternoon against Denver Sundowns at Somhlolo National Stadium in the MTN Premier League.
The match is scheduled for 1pm but ‘Manyovu’ will be on the stands once again. He has already missed two league matches since his E200 000 transfer fee was paid to Leopard last week plus two MoMo Cup play-offs matches last Sunday.
Highlanders Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mandla Madonsela
said they were now only waiting to finalise his registration but required certain paperwork from his parent team, Leopard.
“Manyovu signed a long time ago with the ‘Black Bull’. The police side recently got his clearance from Angola this week, but unfortunately we couldn’t obtain it from them in time for this match,” he said.
DEADLINE
Madonsela said they were working on it and assured that by the transfer window deadline tomorrow at midnight, their ‘weapon’ would have been registered. Coach Makhanya sounded quite adamant of earning victory against Sundowns this afternoon.
“If Manyovu is a registered Highlanders player, then he is part of the team and the coach is allowed to use all of the players available immaterial of their identities. Otherwise, the spirit is very high.
“The players were promising during our preparations. They are ready to fight and I have seen their commitment,” Makhanya said but he was not yet certain if the player will be available or not.
Meanwhile, there was no immediate comment from Leopards PRO Frank Hurube.
