MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows have been dealt a major blow as impressive winger Sizolwethu ‘Nunu’ Shabalala is out for the rest of the first round.

The enterprising winger is the red and white capital giants’ development product and was promoted to the first team alongside Richard McCreesh, who is currently in the football wilderness after he was deemed surplus to requirements by the team.

‘Nunu’ has been a regular in the starting line-up of Umkhonto KaShaka ever since he was promoted to the first team, scoring crucial goals for the team. He will be on the sidelines due to a medical operation.

This was revealed by Swallows General Manager (GM) Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane on national radio, the Eswatini Broadcasting and Information Services (EBIS) Sports Show yesterday.

“We are rocked by injuries, as ‘Nunu’ has a big operation on his stomach and he will miss the rest of the first round,” the former national team Sihlangu Manager said.

He also said that striker James Nguluve was also nursing a muscle injury, but had started light training. He said they would not rush the player to avoid aggravating the injury.

“Another player, who started light training, is Kingu, but we will wait for the doctor’s report, because we need to consult with the medical team on the players’ injuries,” he said.

He further said former national team goal custodian Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza would return to action after a month or two as he was nursing an injury too.

The Musa Manyatsi-led side registered their first win of the season at the expense of Green Mamba. The latter lost 0-2 in an MTN Premier League match played at Somhlolo National Stadium two days ago.
