Taylor Swift makes history with ‘Midnights’

-

LOS ANGELES - Taylor Swift said she was in ‘shambles’ on Monday when she tweeted about becoming the first artist in music history to claim the entire Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.

‘10 out of 10 of the Hot 100???’ tweeted the 32-year-old sensation. ‘On my 10th album??? I am in shambles.’

The multi-platinum superstar has been taking pop culture by storm with the blockbuster release of her 10th studio album called ‘Midnights’ ever since it dropped on October 21.

Accomplished

Swift, (32), accomplished the record-breaking feat with 10 songs from Midnights, unseating the rapper Drake, (36), who achieved nine of the Top 10 slots for one week in 2021. The Wildest Dreams singer’s historic seven-day conquest includes almost too many history-making achievements to mention, as she also notched the biggest week of album sales for any release in seven years.

Swift’s song Anti-Hero leads the way at number one, giving the singer-songwriter her ninth chart topper since she first exploded on to the pop culture landscape in 2006.

And yet another music icon has fallen to Swift’s sword as she took the crown from Madonna for the most top 10s among female artists.

Swift commands 40 top 10 songs, surpassing Madonna’s 38 hits and trailing only Drake, who has amassed 59.

Taylor’s 91.5 million Twitter followers showered her with support when she reacted to the news.

‘We are so proud of you,’ wrote one fan. ‘Swifties are in shambles with you.’

Another ‘Swiftie’ built on this enthusiasm to say how grateful she was for the megastar and her music.

“So so grateful for you and your music,” wrote the superfan. “This album came into my life at the most perfect time. I’m so so proud of you and I love you so much.”

Taylor’s massive fanbase only continues to grow more ravenous and she has been fueling the fandom by repeatedly hinting that a tour is on the horizon.

Speculation finally came to an end last week when the global superstar confirmed that she will be embarking on a world tour to support Midnights.

Swift revealed the exciting news during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, sharing that while there are currently no dates set in stone, fans can expect her highly-anticipated tour will be happening ‘soonish.’

‘We will sometime soonish,’ she told Norton, (59). ‘It’s going to happen. We will do it and it will be great.’

No doubt Taylor will shatter more records when she performs her history-making new music around the world.
