MBABANE- It is all systems go for the start of the leagues of the country’s football third-tier.

The regional football drought will be over, as next weekend most regional football associations are set to begin their 2022/2023 season. With all the regional football action still inactive, three of them are set to kick-off.

Manzini Regional Football Association (MRFA) initially planned to get Super League teams in action this coming weekend but had to put it on hold pending the finalisation of the rules. Teams will now on Saturday and Sunday get trained under the INSTACASH Manzini Football Association (FA) Cup.

It seems as if it will be only Shiselweni Regional Football Association (SRFA) that will remain out of action on the weekend of November 12-13.

It is understood that SFRA could not kick-off the new season without clarity on its rules too. Meanwhile, Hhohho Regional Football Association (HRFA) and Lubombo Regional Football Association (LRFA) are set to kick-off their new season campaigns.

Promotion

HRFA Secretary General (SG) Nkosingiphile Shongwe confirmed the dates and also mentioned that some of the promotion leagues would begin their new season’s campaigns this coming weekend.

A source close to the matter also revealed that LRFA was involved in a series of preparatory meetings ahead of releasing the first round fixture.

Regional Super Leagues in the country usually produce envoys for national soccer tournaments such as Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund-sponsored (MVA) Ingwenyama Cup. The Super League winners get promoted to the National First Division.
