... he didn’t hate church - Phineas

-

M- Former Minister of Education and Training Dr. Phineas Magagula clarified that Masuku did not hate the church.

He said Christianity was introduced wrongly to some people, which made them glory white people.

Dr. Magagula recalled that everything started while they were students at Mhlosheni Franson Christian School.

He said the focus at that time was volatile such that the fact that black people were reduced to slavery was causing constitutional anarchy.

Dr. Magagula, who spoke fluent Afrikaans in between his address said the fight for teachers’ rights was born out of that experience.

He continued to say that they later regrouped at the William Pitcher Teachers Training College, where they met Albert Heshane Shabangu.

Dr. Magagula, who was with other executive members at the podium said Kati’s strict leadership was characterised by discipline and hunger to improve the welfare of teachers.

could sexually violate his own daughter.

“The complainant in the matter is my biological child and I did not commit the alleged offence I am accused of having committed against my own biological child. I would never do anything to harm my own flesh and blood, let alone to sexually violate her.

“The main reason behind these unfounded allegations is the mother of the child with whom I have a number of differences, which started after I lost my job in South Africa and came back home in 2019,” Thulani said.

He told the court that his wife left home in March 2022, leaving him to care for his three grandchildren. The accused person, who is represented by Moses Masilela of Masilela Attorneys, informed the court that he was desirous of being released from custody on bail. Thulani’s application was heard yesterday.

“Soon the Provident Fund and Ministry of Labour officials will visit all four regions of the country to meet with the ex-miners to facilitate the transfer of the funds to them,” he said.

The PS said the funds should be claimed by the ex-miners and in the event they are deceased, their beneficiaries must come forward with proof that they are indeed the beneficiaries of the ex-miners’ funds.

However, the ex-miners disclosed to this publication that no one has received any money from

The Employment Bureau of Africa (TEBA) yet. It is not only the ex-miners from Eswatini but also from South Africa as it has been gathered that the leaders of an ex-mineworkers association in Khayelitsha have spent the past decade trying to track down the unpaid pension benefits deducted from their wages without their knowledge or consent.

While the mining companies sit pretty, ex-mineworkers continue to live hand to mouth with painful memories of a life made invisible. Now, they demand to be seen by a government they feel has betrayed them.
