The events calendar from now until the people countdown to the new year are a lot and this means that more people will gather at different hangout spots and to celebrate, especially because the world has Must come from a time when they were grounded in their homes for almost two years.

Concern

This is a cause for concern because after the COVID-19 regulations were lifted, more people have been attending events, making most gathering bigger than previous years.

The news of the hike was published in yesterday¶s publication after the weekly COVID-19 statistics which were released by the 0inistry of +ealth. The country recorded 60 confirmed cases so far.

0inister of +ealth /i]]ie 1kosi, however, shared that this was not a cause for concern, meaning even in the entertainment sector, people should not be worried when asked what the 87 per cent hike in the COVID-19 cases to upcoming events meant.

³60 cases were reported for October, meaning roughly two per day which is hardly an issue. The figures compare one period to another,” mentioned the minister.

Despite the comforting news from the 0inistry of +ealth, event organisers and promoters were Tuite shaken by the news, mentioning that this would cause a huge dent in a system that they had rebuilt if the cases continued to rise.

Affected

.ool Swa]i 3romoter known to many as D- 0fundo said ³The hike is really bad for events because our events would be once again affected by the virus.”

+e further urged the public to make sure that they vaccinated and get the booster shots to protect themselves and others, especially because the festive season which is a busy time was fast-approaching.

0ore promoters shared the same sentiments on how this was a flashback into 2020, that they didn¶t want to relive and how this would take people back to a time when they were easily subMected to depression as human interaction with others was limited to Must their family members if any. The pandemic affected most industries; including the sports and entertainment industries, which relatively are still feeling the impact even after the virus had µdied¶ down.
