EZULWINI – The teams have a renowned footballer to thank for sourcing the E20 000 tournament sponsorship.

Mbabane Swallows’ star player Felix Badenhorst was at the forefront of scouting the tournament sponsorship for the Siphofaneni football tournament, with the sole purpose of giving back to the community that raised him.Badenhorst thanked MA Consulting Engineers Company for welcoming their sponsorship application.

“I was excited that MA welcomed my request with open arms. Siphofaneni is my hometown where I grew up playing football in the regional league before I moved to premier league level. It was my wish to give back to my community. I wish for this partnership to continue,” Badenhorst said after the E20 000 sponsorship prize handover.

The former Eswatini international’s dedication to supporting development was also witnessed last month when he donated 10 soccer boots for Ezulwini Catholic Under-15 girls team who participated in the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Under-15s Fast Footie Legacy Programme held last month at the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Technical Centre in Lobamba.

The participating teams were selected form the Pick n Pay Under-15s Football Development Programme, which played for 10 weeks across the four regions of the country.
