E20k for biggest monster fish
MBABANE – Reel in the biggest tiger fish and be guaranteed to pocket a E20 000 cash prize.
This will be during the Lusip Monster Fish Competition. This is an annual fishing competition which began at Lusip Dam, also known as Lubovane Dam, Eswatini in 2017. This year, the Lusip Monster Fish Competition will be hosting its sixth annual fishing competition.
The two-day fishing competition starts on Friday and ends the following day. Weigh-in opens on Friday and closes on Saturday, followed by a prize giving ceremony plus an after party at the hosting venue, Vasaka Lodge located at Siphofaneni.

Local and international anglers will be competing for lucrative cash prizes, with the senior division champion taking home E20 000. The second-placed tiger fish wins E5 000 and the junior champion nets E1 000. The host, Robert Forbes emphasised that the competition was environmentally friendly and was strictly a catch and release soon after weigh-in.

Harry Loures is the defending champion from last year’s competition, having topped the charts with the largest tiger weighing 3.43 kilogrammes (kg). He was followed by Lurie Mentz with a tiger weighing at least 3.13kg. The defending junior champion Sol Lanir’s catch weighed 1.07kg and there were no black bass fish caught in the previous edition.
