Pageants Eswatini president resigns

MBABANE – With only a few weeks left before the crowning of participants of the remaining pageants in the country, their overseer has resigned.
Pageants Eswatini is a national beauty pageant body duly mandated to deYelop, promote and protect the beauty pageantry industry in the .ingdom of Eswatini. The pageant body has been running under the superYision of &atrien Potgieter, who was the president for the past nine year.6he took oYer from then 6wa]iland %eauty Pageants $ssociations’ Tony.
In the interim seat will be occupied by /iYiwe Makhubu. Potgieter shared with this publication that she was honoured to haYe been part of pageants for such a long time and the support she receiYed oYer the years.
“I had the most oYerwhelming experiences in that seat, it was great because pageants are my passion. I will always be part of local beauty pageants,´ said Porgieter.
The pageant has been in pursuant of a mandate as delegated by the Eswatini beauty pageant.
This organisation has been running the pageants with the help of some indiYiduals and companies for a couple of years now and the fruits of their work are Yisible.
%efore , many had complained that pageants in Eswatini should be dissolYed, especially because at that time there was a three?-year period of no participation or actiYity.
International
It was also oYer a decade had also been participating in international well-known pageants such as Miss :orld. +oweYer, this year the association seemed to haYe gone back to the drawing board and fixed its mistakes. There were multiple participations in international pageants such as Miss
Eco-Tourism, Miss Tourism :orld and Miss Teen *lobal, among others. The in-bound pageants were confirmed to be all systems go, including Miss &ultural +eritage, /ittle Miss Eswatini and Miss Eswatini.
The only beauty pageant that has not been confirmed is Miss Teen Eswatini, after encountering fake pageants organisers which caused a huge dent to the actual show.
The biggest pageant to look forward to is the Miss Eswatini pageant under the theme ‘%e $ %eacon of +ope’, which is set for NoYember , this year, at 6harma +ouse.
$ccording to Potgieter, Pageants Eswatini is working with an organising committee which shall ensure a competitiYe and inclusiYe contest to choose the pride of Eswatini, this year.
:ith all the necessary management systems and controls in place all upcoming pageants will work towards assuring sponsors and partners will enjoy huge benefits from the staging of such a national eYent.
The association with a full mandate from EN&$&, hereby wishes will seek support and sponsorship for the realisation of this national contest that also contributes significantly to the goYernment deYelopment plans.
