MBABANE – After the controversy of broken partnerships, the upcoming Music Carnival will now be held at its initially announced venue, Manzini Club.

The event; The Rebirth of The Music Carnival, recently announced the changes which were confirmed by the event’s promoter, Bonginhlanhla Kunene better known as KB da DJ. He clarified that the event was initially going to take place at Manzini Club but was changed to the Malkerns Country Club because of the agreement that the venue had with the network provider.

Now that Eswatini Mobile had pulled out its sponsorship of the event, they decided to revert back to what was mentioned, to be very convenient for the young crowd expected to attend.

The event organisers and promoter both mentioned to this publication that this did not alter the proceedings of the event and that the show was still going to take place on Saturday.

One of the headliners, Senior Oat, released a confirmation video that he would perform at the show. It will be the artist’s third time into the kingdom in a period of eight months.

KB DA DJ also said, “The event will definitely still on, and we are looking for other sponsors for the event but none the less the event was all systems go.”

The carnival was launched on September 10 this year, over 40 artists both local and international were announced in the presence of Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) Chief Executive Officer, Stanley Dlamini.

Mentioned

During the launch, the event’s organisers, mentioned that the event was a first of its kind and that would help showcase the country’s music talent, also announcing some Eswatini artists to perform namely; Nomalungelo, Illa PenBoy, Sarnilo, M Nation, KB da DJ, DJ Zulu D, !Sooks, Mix Mash, Supa CDQ, The Scientists, DJ MBO, The Bishops, AyaCity and Bofecela. The local acts will be supported by South African (SA) artists Young Stunna, Kabza De Small and Senior Oat.

The objective according to the event organiser was to bring members of the public together for some clean fun, and unite them in admiring the country’s talent.

Samu Pacho, mentioned how it would be great to have youth organisations leaders as well as arts organisation leaders, especially because the initiative is to grow the local arts industry and equip the youth on how to go about doing so.

“We are looking at empowering the young artists in the country and there is no better way to gather in one room individuals who have made it to mentor those looking forward to making it,” said Pacho.

The target is 30 individuals and there are no age limits for individuals who would like to attend the event. Other panelists will be engaged to share needed information on the day like financial advisors, business scholars, motivational speakers and successful businesspeople to share their journey and experience.
