MBABANE – They are challenged to emulate the men team.

After winning the inaugural MoMo Cup Tournament on Sunday, premier league rookies Nsingizini Hotspurs have set the bar for their sister team Nsingizini Ladies, formerly known as Kappa Ladies ahead of the Women’s Football League (WFL) campaign that kicks off tomorrow.

Nsingizini Ladies will be searching for their first victory after assuming the new name when they clash with Mbabane Swallows Ladies at Manzini Club, starting at 11am.

The ladies team Chairman, Sonnyboy Mabuza, said both teams were boasting a young squad, mostly scholars and their cultures blended well when it came to their youthful squads.

Challenge

“Nsingizini Hotspurs have thrown a challenge to the ladies, meaning that anything aligned to Nsingizini has to display a champion’s character and that is our goal this season in the women’s football league,” Mabuza said.

According to the fixtures confirmed by Eswatini Women’s Football Association (EWFA) Chief Operations Officer (COO) Ntandoyenkosi Hlatjwayo, the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Technical Centre in Lobamba will host a double header on the same day.

Manzini Wanderers will welcome Shiselweni Roses at 1pm while local team in AS Interladies have a date with Royal Leopard at 3pm. The King Sobhuza Memorial Stadium will play host to Southern Divas and Green Mamba at 10am.

On Sunday, Mbekelweni Ladies will visit Big Bend’s Ladies to honour their fixture penned to kick-off at 10:30am. The domestic league defending champions, Young Buffaloes Ladies will lock horns with Elangeni Ladies at the Technical Centre in Lobamba at 2pm.

“The fixtures will continue as planned but unfortunately, we will no longer have the grand opening ceremony that we were hoping for. Otherwise, this weekend is the official kick-off of the women’s league,” Hlatjwayo said.
