H– How much would you be willing to pay for the return of a missing child?

A family living around Lufafa has spent over E60 000 on traditional healers, so they can help them to find their son, Kholwa Dlamini.

Kholwa disappeared on November 26, 2021, when he escorted some friends who were crossing into South Africa (SA).

Since Lufafa is near the borderline between Eswatini and SA, Kholwa and his friends took an over six-hour journey up the nearby mountains.

According to Kholwa’s father Sisimba Dlamini, his son called him on the day he had gone missing.

He said he called his father so he could explain that he was struggling to find his way home due to fog.

This is because the area where they are situated is mountanious. “I tried to ask him (Kholwa) to explain where exactly he was so we could send some people to him but we could not find him,” said Sisimba.

Sisimba said he continued communicating with his son but he complained that his battery was running flat.

He said his son’s cellphone eventually went dead and he could not be located.

“That was the last time I heard from him,” he said.

The matter was then reported to the police who also joined the search for Kholwa, while assisted by a ‘swarm’ of residents.

Sisimba said the walk to where his son is believed to have vanished took them six hours to reach.

He also said a private company brought in drones to assist for an aerial view of the place in hope that his son would be located.

However, despite all the efforts, there was no sign of Kholwa.

Sisimba said after realising that there was no sign of locating his son, he was informed by one of his relatives living in SA that they should consult traditional healers from Mozambique. He said he was first introduced to a traditional healer who is based in Mozambique.

Sisimba said had to travel to Mozambique so that they could see the traditional healer who would tell them where exactly his son was.

When they arrived in Mozambique, Sisimba said the traditional healer asked for a photo of his son.

He said when he presented the photograph which was in digital form, the traditional healer asked that it should be printed.

After the photo was printed the traditional healer said she knew where his son was but he was not ready to come back yet.

Sisimba said the traditional healer requested that she should travel from Mozambique to Eswatini so that she could physically locate Kholwa.

assisted

Meanwhile, since Sisimba is a pastor at a Zion church, his congregation also assisted in the funds to get the traditional healers into Eswatini and pay for other needs.

Sisimba said he was also working as a builder, but that he spent nearly all his money on traditional healers because he wanted his son back.

He said he still needed more money as what he had paid so far was only a fraction of what was needed.
