Barman allegedly exposes woman’s private parts, kills her

MBABANE – A barman has been arrested for allegedly exposing a woman¶s pri vate parts and killing her.

Sabatha Muntu Matsebula 37 of Maseyisini under &hief Mgod]i is alleged to have killed Thandeka Mamba by assaulting her. The in cident happened on September 2 , 2022 at Maseyisini. He is alleged to have also exposed Mamba¶s private parts without her consent. He faces another charge of assault common.

Matsebula allegedly assaulted Mamba¶s friend, *race .unene, by poking her with a walking stick and hitting her once with a fist on the body.

Matsebula was arrested tember 2022. He said he in Sep handed himself over to 1hlangano police after being informed that they were looking for him. In his applicatio­n for bail, he stated that he intended to plead not guilty to the charges ‘since I did not commit the offences and I am confident of my prospects of success¶.

He alleged that Mamba started the fight. According to the barman, Mamba assaulted him and stabbed him with a knife in the head and right hand.

“I tried to run away from her but she picked up a stone and hit me with it. She charged towards me and I reiterated by hitting her with a fist and she fell. On seeing her down, I quickly organised transport to take her to hospital,´ Matsebula told the court.

The accused person submitted that six days after Mamba had been taken to hospital, he met her father and he told him that she was get ting better. He alleged that he gave Mamba¶s father (200 to buy her food. Matsebula said Mamba¶s fa ther advised him to save money for the hospital bill.

“I was shocked when I was in formed that she had passed away,´ Matsebula told the court.

He denied committing the other offences. He said Mamba and .unene were friends and the charge of assaulting the latter was intended to spite him. Matsebula¶s bail applicatio­n was heard by -udge -ustice Mavuso yesterday.

He was represente­d by 5aymond Mwelase of %.S. 'lamini and As sociates. The court granted Mat sebula bail in sum of ( 0 000. He was ordered to pay (3 000 in cash and provide surety for the balance.
