Stop wishful thinking take action

$1< times in life, if not daily or even at all times, we are always faced with situations whereby we have got to make decisions and choices on what to do. $t the end of the day, the decisions and choices which we make, and the things which we end up doing, are controlled or influenced by a lot of different things, factors and considerations. Some of these influencing things, factors and considerations are personal in nature, while others are not so personal but based on other things, factors and considerations such as reality, the truth, fairness, righteousness, goodness, reasoned logic, reasonableness and rationality amongst many other things. %ut at the end of the day, no matter what the things, factors or considerations which we may use to choose or decide on what to do, the choices and decisions thereof still remain ours alone and very much personal in nature too. :hether or not we use personal considerations or non-personal considerations when we make the decisions and choices which we make in life is still very much up to us. It still is our very own decision and choice to make. Thus, at the end of the day, anything and everything which we do, choose or decide to do is Must based on our own personal free will, choices and decisions. This realisation is very important in life. 0any of us do not accept or realise the fact that regardless of the compelling reasons which we may have or advance for choosing or having chosen to do one thing instead of another, at the end of the day, the choices and decisions which we make are still very much ours and ours alone, and also very much personal in nature, and still very much up to us and no one else but ourselves alone. 8ltimately, we are always responsible for the decisions and choices we make in life, and also for the actions which we take thereafter. There is nothing like µI did not have any choice but to do what I did. That is a lie! :e always have choices in life.

0any people choose what to do based on how easy it is to do, what they want, or how that choice makes them feel. If one chooses what to do based on what they want, they most probably would be making that choice based of $ few weeks ago, as usual my business women’s group got together, as we do every month, and share any business insights, motivate each other and Must network. This time as it is near year end we spoke about what we were ready to let go of in our lives and set our intentions for the new year. :e not only spoke our intentions, we prayed for them with each other. It was beautiful and powerful.

%ut a few days later, as I was sitting in meditation I heard the voice of my heart tell me, ³You aren’t going to make those intentions come true unless you get very specific about how they are going to come about this year. You need to set goals and outline steps and commit to bringing this about in your life. self-centred or even selfish considerations. They would be putting self before everything else. In as much as selfishness or self-centredness is Must a very natural, normal and expected phenomenon or trait in all human beings, or of any other living organisms or creatures for that matter, it is not necessarily always the best, right or correct basis on which to make a decision on what to do or what not to do.

PROCESS

Self-centred, when prioritised above everything else, tends to mar, confuse, cloud and muddle up our choices and the decision making process. This is because self-centred tends to negate the truth, reality, fairness, logic, reasoned Mudgement, righteousness and everything else on the ground. Thus, with self-centred at play, the choices and decisions which are then made tend to be obviously biased, out of touch with reality, sometimes very wrong and also very much conflict prone. If and when such choices and decisions affect other people or communities, everyone can and would be able to see such decisions’ patent selfishness right through them. The result is that the affected people would not accept such decisions or choices, and would seek to fight or contest them. Hence, in situations whereby such decisions or choices are meant to solve existing challenges such as family disputes, love problems, social conflicts, community disharmony, government troubles or political conflicts, self-centred decisions, choices and actions are more likely to further inflame the already inflamed and precarious situation than to provide the much needed solutions thereof! This is a given.

)rom the above treatise, it becomes patently clear that the best decision and the best choice to make in any and 2therwise, it’s Must going to be business as usual.´

I was shown that I needed to set goals in every area of my life and be very specific about what I desire to create in that area and what it will take to get there. Then I needed to commit to the steps and have a process for tracking them and keeping my goals in my awareness.

Since then, I have been deeply engaged in a process of visioning my life, creating goals for the year, and dividing those goals into measurable, achievable steps, and then following through. I now have developed a whole process to keep me moving toward my heart’s desires in a balanced way. The process has been ama]ing and challenging, and quite a learning experience.

Suddenly I am making things happen in my life that I have wanted for a long time and felt that I either could not make time for or had no control over. In the process I have had to get very real about what is important to me, what I truly desire, and to what I every given situation is the right, correct, truthful, rational, logical and righteous one. The best choice or decision to make is not the one which Must best suits the needs, wants, feelings and aspiration of the chooser or decision maker! 8nfortunately, making the right or correct decisions and choices is one of the biggest challenges which we have as human beings at all levels of our human and social existence. $t individual levels, we more often than not make decisions based on what we want, desire or how we feel about things instead of on commonsense and reasoned logic. :e often make decisions and choices about what professions or career paths to follow based on considerations about social status or financial earning potentials thereof instead of on our own intrinsic capabilities and whether or not we like or love that particular profession or career. $s a result, we end up as teachers when we actually hate children and teaching, or as nurses when we actually are afraid of diseased patients and do not like nursing anybody, or as doctors who see patients as sources of tradable donor and transplant organs instead of people we must dedicate our services too, or as lawyers who see clients as lucrative sources of income and then lie and rip them off as a matter of routine instead of helping them!

This is not good at all and is therefore not the right thing to do. The right and correct thing to do is to always choose or decide on a career path which one is not only good at, but also likes and is wholeheartedly committed to. The right and correct thing is that a career or profession must be more about passion, combined with ability, than Must about earning capacity and social prestige alone. $nd yet in today’s world am willing to commit myself, my energy, time, and resources. How much do I want it" $nd what is in the way inside of me" :hat has been holding me back"

WISHFUL THINKING

2ne of the things I am realising is that in the past I relied heavily on wishful thinking, waiting for a miracle to take me out of my current dilemma and bring me my dreams. I would hope for a miracle while not committing myself to making the things I desire happen. I still fall into this, because it’s hard to get crystal clear and then take action. It brings us up against our fears, our false beliefs, our la]iness or insecurity or doubt. %ut the bigger problem was I didn’t feel empowered to create the life I desire, to manifest my dreams. I felt helpless and hopeless, like the best I could do was hope and pray, and maybe these things would show up and maybe they wouldn’t. Hence, I would hesitate between periods of great optimism and great despair, because I didn’t feel I had any urgency in the situation. 1ow I realise this is totally wrong.
