NDZINGENI – Ndzingeni Member of Parliament (MP) and former Minister, Lutfo Dlamini has advised the newly-appointed chief in that area to be always approachable.

Speaking during the introduction of Chief Mavelebaleni, who is a successor of the late Chief Mmema, Dlamini implored him to appreciate that to lead people he needs to unite them. In that way the people will focus on the development of the Ndzingeni area.

2 000 residents crammed the Ndzingeni Umphakatsi to witness the introduction of their new chief yesterday afternoon.

His Majesty King Mswati III, recently appointed a number of chiefs.

Worth noting is that Eswatini has had quite a great margin of chiefdoms who were without chiefs.

PEOPLE’S CHIEF

“I dedicate 2 Chronicles 1: 7 - 12, and you must ask God to give you wisdom. You need God’s wisdom to run the chiefdom,” said MP Dlamini.

He pointed out that this was the chief’s opportunity to unite the people of Ndzingeni during these difficult times.

“The people should be able to approach you at all times and you must aim to unite the chiefdom through the long tested formula of peace and dialogue. You must appreciate that to lead people you need to unite them so they can focus on the development of the Ndzingeni area,” the MP said.

The MP informed the new chief that next year they were expecting the over E350 million tarred road from Pigg’s Peak to Nagoga.

“I urge the youth to come together and form business groups and take part in this important venture. As Inkhundla we are ready to assist as we want this road project to benefit the Ndzingeni community. We need the chief to sign the first letter to give us land to establish a water project for the area,” explained MP Dlamini.

Different sibhaca groups were there to entertain the residents to the fullest.

INTEREST

The new Ndzingeni chief was among the 50 newly-appointed chiefs whom His Majesty King Mswati III told to always be respectful and put interests of the people before theirs.

The chiefs included six from South Africa, three tindvuna and king of the Mamba clan.

Addressing the chiefs, the king said by virtue of the fact that he blesses loyal and active leaders, all the people who had been endorsed should lead by example and emulate the same respect that he exhibits to the people of Eswatini and beyond.

“Do not lose respect and be emabhova (bull terriers) because being emabhova does not end well. Being emabhova end painfully. As emaSwati we should not encourage being libhova, we must encourage respect among emaSwati,” the King said during the appointment a few weeks ago.

He instructed chiefs and tindvuna to teach their subjects respect because Their Majesties, princes, chiefs and all structures also respect the people as well.
