‘Sea Robbers’, ‘Birds’ up for a thriller

-

MONENI PIRATES VS MBABANE SWALLOWS AT MAVUSO SPORTS CENTRE, 3:30PM ZULWINI - These two sides have often offered fans their money’s worth each time they meet and this one may be even more interesting given that they are all members of the Simunye group chaired by Mbabane Highlanders Managing Director (MD) Chief Ally Kgomongwe, whose wife has taken over Moneni after getting a major shareholding stake.

EKgomongwe has also helped Swallows get a co-director even though his involvement remains unclear. So, Pirates who have their own fans always rallying behind them will also probably win the Highlanders grandstand while Nsingizini may have their handful travelling fans plus the Swallows 12th man to create a great atmosphere in the area. Swallows have succeeded in beating Pirates in recent seasons as the latter struggled without a director to pay salaries and bonuses to players. However, the Coaster Magongo-coached side has remained just as exciting as they always play their trademark possession game.

They still have potential youngsters who can destroy any opposition with the right motivation. The Sea Robbers of Moneni are on mid table, while Swallows are fourth and aiming at doing better than last season. They want to win the first round and go on to win the league that has evaded them for a while now since they lost their slain Chairman Victor Gamedze

in 2018. It is one match to watch as both teams are still itching for consistency. Swallows have nine points on fourth and with a win here; they can be even be at the summit but results from other games yesterday and today will also matter. Pirates are eighth on the table with six points and for them, beating Swallows takes them level.
