MBABANE – The National Commissioner (NATCOM) of Police, William Tsitsibala Dlamini, has said more suspects will be rounded up by the police, to add to the three others who appeared in court on Tuesday.
Dlamini described the spate of arson and executions as acts of terrorism that should be condemned in the strictest of terms. He said the recent burning of the home of the Chief Justice Bheki Maphalala and that of James Motsa, the Station Commander of Simunye Police Station signified that there were people intent on sowing seeds of lawlessness. Dlamini was speaking at the Police Headquarters during the Police Wellness (World AIDS) Day Commemoration yesterday.
“On a different note, we find it appropriate to use this platform presented by today’s ceremony to condemn the ongoing incidents of violence and blatant acts of terrorism that we continue to witness in the country.
Efforts
“We are grateful that our efforts of ensuring that the elements responsible for the various spine-chilling acts of violence witnessed and reported in the country previously have borne fruit with the arrest of three suspects who were wanted for a litany of crimes. In collaboration with our sister forces, we will continue to roll-out our robust operational and investigative strategies to ensure that all others who are still hell-bent on causing a state of fear and anarchy in the country are eventually caught and brought to justice,” he said.
He noted that they condemned untoward conduct and it would be remiss not to mention the case of Apostle Madudu Mabuza whom it had been reported was receiving threats, following his moving sermon during the National End of Year Prayer Service. “It is really dumbfounding as to why the apostle is now being threatened for simply relaying a message from God. The threats are unacceptable and as a police service we will make sure that we thoroughly investigate this particular case so that those behind them are brought to book,” he added.
