Futhi Msibi replaces Busi at SWALIMO
MBABANE – The Swaziland Liberation Movement (SWALIMO) has appointed Futhi Msibi as the new Secretary General (SG).
The replacement was announced by the movement’s Spokesperson, Thantaza Silolo, in a press statement issued yesterday. Silolo announced that SWALIMO had filled the vacant leadership positions of SG, 1st deputy secretary general (DSG) and 2nd DSG.
The aforementioned positions were left vacant after the movement expelled Busi Mayisela who was the National Chairperson and Dr Siphetfo Dlamini who was the SG. Meanwhile, Gift Dlamini was the 1st DSG and Phephile Ndzinisa was the 2nd DSG.
Silolo said SWALIMO leadership structures nominated and endorsed Msibi as the SG; Paul Matimela as 1st DSG and Wandile Ndlangamandla as the 2nd DSG.
Prior to their appointments, Msibi had been serving as the Head of Communications and a member of Executive Committee, while Matimela served as a Political Commissar responsible for political education and Ndlangamandla was the Deputy Chairperson for the Shiselweni Region.
The spokesperson said these leaders assumed their positions at a time when SWALIMO marks its first year anniversary and they were expected to drive the recommitment agenda for change and hope, which seeks to intensify the struggle towards liberation.

Elections
Mayisela added that all public leaders must be elected and be a representative of society through multiparty elections to deliver policies and programmes that were pro-people rather than to meet the capitalist needs of big businesses.
She added that there were ongoing consultations that were aimed at finalising the founding documents in the form of the constitution, strategy and tactics, as well as the political road map.
