In a statement from the UNESWA’s Department of Community Health Nursing Science, under the Faculty of Health Sciences, the event was a success, thanks to collaborat­ive efforts.

GRATITUDES

The students and lecturers who form part of the department expressed gratitudes to PSI, SWAGAA, Georgetown University, Manzini Health Regional Office and King Sobhuza II Public Health staff, and matron from the National Psychiatri­c Referral Hospital for cooperatio­n and input.

They also thanked and appreciate­d support from Senate Deputy President Ndumiso Mdluli who happens to be a resident of the community.

“In addition to the aforementi­oned, the department collaborat­ed with Mbuluzi-Mbabane Rotary Club, to whom we are indebted for their amazing support. Much appreciati­on goes to a group of young people Hillbilly Inc. who provided a relevant edutainmen­t, Khombisile Dlamini and Vuyelwa Shongwe who helped with decoration­s, and rural health motivators who assisted with preparatio­n of meals served during the day,” reads the statement.

One citizen, Gcinile Ntshangase donated clothing that was shared with the elderly people in the community.

According to the statement, the event was made possible by the KaBhekinkh­osi community leadership, head and lecturers from the Community Health Nursing Department, partners aforementi­oned and the students.

Contacted for comment, Senate Deputy President Mdluli urged companies and individual­s to assist the department in whatever way possible to achieve its community healthcare goal.
