Sandile 17th Sundowns ............... 1

MBABANE- Rookies Seven Dreams came back from behind to steal a point against fellow strugglers Denver Sundowns.

The two sides played to 1-all draw at a rain-soaked Prince of Wales Sports Ground in Mbabane, during a week seven MTN Premier League clash, yesterday. Sundowns made an early statement of intent when Wandile Ntshakala struck in the second minute, having found the space in the box to bring down a pass on his chest, before firing it into the net to make it 0-1 to Denver Sundowns.

Seven Dreams were to see plenty of the balls and they had the chance to turn that advantage into a goal in the 14th minute, when Jabulani Mavimbela played a neat one-two with Phumlani Ngwenya, before bursting in on goal, but his right-footed angled finish went just wide of the far post.

While the side from Mankayane did enjoy a few opportunities, when they scored in the 17th minute, it was against the run of play. It was down to a brilliant cross from Menzi Shabangu, whose whipped ball from the right flank was guided home emphatically by the foot of Captain, Sandile ‘Mshina’ Dlamini to make it 1-all.

Threat

Having survived the Denver Sundowns threat in the resumption of the second-half, Seven Dreams could have added a second goal when ‘Mshina’ sprinted towards goal, following Trevor Mtsetfwa’s pass, but the Seven Dreams striker shot straight at Sundowns goalkeeper Bernard Ayikwei.

The closing minutes of the match made for absorbing viewing for the few supporters at the Prince of Wales, as the two teams each had periods of dominance when they created moments of promise, without fully testing either of the goalkeepers, in part also because of some committed defending. The spoils were eventually shared, with both sides still chasing double figures in terms of their points tally.

MAN OF THE MATCH

in a commanding display. Sphamandla carried Sundowns forward as he made forward runs with HIS SUBLIME PASSES - LINKING THE MIDfiELD with the attack.
