We will work with SWALIMO – Busi

-

MBABANE – President of the unnamed new political party, Busi Mayisela has revealed that they were ready to work with the Swaziland Liberation Movement (SWALIMO) in advancing the struggle.

Mayisela was responding to a question on whether she and the others, Dr Siphetfo Dlamini, Gift Dlamini and Phephile Ndzinisa, had officially dropped their membership with SWALIMO.

Mayisela said SWALIMO was fighting for the same cause as their new political party and by its own standards; SWALIMO was open to working with other organisations. She said it was immaterial whether they were members or not since SWALIMO as a movement was open to working with members of other political parties. “We are going to work with SWALIMO, whether we are members or not and I want you to understand me clearly when I say this. Both organisations will be working for the people and both organisations need to work with each other if we are going to conquer the enemy. We will not do what they do but we also not going to look down upon or sabotage what they do,” she said.

Secretary General (SG) Gift Dlamini echoed Mayisela’s sentiments and said they were going to work with all major players in the democratic movement.

“In the Swaziland (Eswatini) context, it makes sense to work as a collective. We will definitely work with the Political Parties Assembly (PPA), the Multi-Stakeholders Forum and all other local and international stakeholders to realise a free and democratic Eswatini,” he said.

Dlamini mentioned that as a political party there was always the unsaid desire to contest for elections, so that the political party could be in government representing the interests of its members and the citizens.
