December, my favourite because it’s also my birth month. Yes, we December babies are privileged because of the festive celebrations. People are always in a giving spirit, thanks to the bonus packages for the chosen ones of course, so yes I’m accepting double gifts this month.

Good to be back, it’s been a very challenging time for our country as we go through a very uncertain time in our lives, and somehow not sure of the future, but we trust God nonetheless for a peaceful resolution end of the day.

Last week, I travelled to the warmest place in South Africa, Durban, this time I hopped on a kombi. l left Manzini just before 9am but I reached my final destination literally a two hours later, yet it’s normally a six-hour drive.

There were so many roadblocks along the way, but it was the one just after Siphofaneni which made me uneasy. The police asked us to alight from the kombi and searched the bags of only guys though, for us females the lady cop who was supposed to do the honours was on a call. The other police went in the kombi and searched it, even under the seats; of course no one told us what they were actually looking for.

They then ‘allowed’ us to proceed with our trip, much to the disgruntled passengers, who voiced their concerns of being treated like suspects; it was a very uncomfortable scene with their big guns. Same story at the border two of the guys were properly screened and asked for physical address, reason of visit. If you think things are normal, try travelling in these challenging time. But on a lighter note, I had fun in Durban and returned safely, we thank God. Oh yes we were also stopped at another roadblock on my return trip, but it was a normal one.

On a lighter note we finally in the most joyous time of the year. What with so many events which even I can’t decide where to go and where not to, as Editor of Entertainment, it’s vital to show face at all these events as they are all important. I spoke to Shadow Zwane on Wednesday, and expressed my challenge this weekend in particular as his stable will host the prestigious Social Media Awards. I told him that one, I don’t have the outfit for it, two and it also falls on the same day as the Gospel Awards also a big event in the industry. So here I am still tossing the coin deciding on which one to attend and actually stay till the end, or stay two hours at each, because they all important in my space. What with the crowning of Little Miss Eswatini, also on the same day, let’s just say I have a busy weekend definitely.

It should be no brainer as the biggest event this weekend we decided to chat with one of the host of the Social Media Awards Bello Nkhosi. She shared with us how the gig came about and her presenting skills.

We also spoke to DJ Snolove in DJs corner. The gorgeous and talented Mandisa Mamba tells it all on our new feature to warn guys about things they do that women don’t like, you will definite enjoy it. Also hand over page seven to the little ones to colour in and have fun. Finally enjoy our collage of a love story on our wedding pages.

I will leave you with this quote by Maya Angelou, “You will face many defeats in life, but never let yourself be defeated.” Have a blessed week!
