EPH completes COHSASA training programme
MBABANE – Ezulwini Private Hospital (EPH) is excited to announce the successful completion of the Council for Health Service Accreditation of Southern Africa (COHSASA) Training Programme.
The programme was carried out during a three-day training for all staff members working at the hospital.
COHSASA is an internationally-recognised, quality improvement accreditation body for healthcare facilities in Sub-Saharan Africa. The body works to strengthen and improve health systems through trainings, standardisation, quality improvement and accreditation.
The objective of the training was to provide guidance on conformance with international and national standards relating to patient care, as well as advice on risk management and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
Dr Thandeka Khanyile, the Chief Executive Officer at the hospital says the program forms part of their response plan to the feedback they have been receiving from clients about the overall experience at EPH. Khanyile said the program aimed to enhance their commitment to providing an exceptional healing environment to support healthier lives for all emaSwati.
“Our promise to the nation is commitment to exceptional health services with a focus on continuous improvement, in order to deliver the highest quality of healthcare services,” Khanyile said.
Interviewed after the training, SHERQ Patient & Safety Maxwell Maseko said the training helped them identify areas where there was a need for improvement. Maseko said it was an eye-opening and exciting session since it was patient-centred, evident to their commitment to improving EPH’s overall service delivery.
“We plead for support and patience from all our customers as we embark on the journey to making their experience at EPH a better one. We have engaged COHSASA to help us identify and address some of the challenges our customers highlighted before,” Maseko said.
Others who attended the training had to this to say:
Glenda T Dlamini (Housekeeping): “It was a very informative session even people who had not worked in the health space before could easily follow on some of the issues that were discussed.”
