‘HAVOC’

In a parking lot, teenage filmmaker Eric attempts to document the Wannabe’s lifestyle enjoyed by Allison Lang and her boyfriend Toby’s gang of white upper-class teenagers living in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood. A brawl ensues between Toby’s gang and another gang, which ends with both sides fleeing just before police arrive. Later that night, Toby’s gang goes to a party at Eric’s house, and Allison’s relationship with Toby as well as her other friends Emily and Sam is further revealed. The next day, Allison meets with her father, Stuart, at work to discuss family problems, the awkward conversation revealing the virtually non-existent relationship Allison has with her parents.

‘INFINITY POOL’

Novelist James Foster and his wife Em spend time at a resort in the fictional seaside country of Li Tolqa, where a local festival is underway. The couple’s chronic marital strife is exacerbated when Gabi, a fan of the only novel James has published to date, invites them to spend time with her and her husband Alban. The four have dinner and decide to spend the next day driving in the countryside, even though they have been warned that tourists are to remain on the resort compound at all times. After a long day of sunbathing and cooking, the tourists embark on a drunken drive back to their hotel. En route, James accidentally runs over a local man, killing him. Gabi insists that they cannot call the police, as the country is corrupt and they will not be safe. ‘MURDER MYSTERY’

After solving their first murder mystery, Nick and Audrey Spitz have quit their jobs as a cop and hairdresser, respectively, to become full-time private detectives, but are having difficulty getting their upstart agency on the map. When they are invited to the private island wedding of their friend the Maharajah, they are given the chance to prove themselves when he is unexpectedly kidnapped.

Ezra Cohen, a 35-year-old broker and podcaster, falls into an unlikely relationship with fashion designer Amira Mohammed. The couple first meet each other when Amira, frustrated with her GPS navigation system, parks in front of the building where Ezra works. Ezra, mistakenly believing Amira is his Uber driver, climbs into the car, setting off an awkward dust-up. Ezra makes amends for his mishap by later taking her out to lunch, and the two realise there is a mutual attraction despite their differences, as Ezra is Jewish, and Amira is Black and was raised by her devout NOI parents.

Amira and Ezra eventually move in together, to the chagrin of her father Akbar who prefers that his daughter date a Muslim. Six months into his relationship with Amira, Ezra takes her to meet his family. His parents Shelley and Arnold awkwardly explain that they are accepting and supportive of everyone, including their LGBT daughter Liza. When Shelley begins to bring up subjects related to the BLM movement, an embarrassed Ezra steers her out of the room. He confides to his mom that he plans on proposing to Amira.
