Kille† brother was a menace Ȃ sibling

MANZINI – Community police members were reportedly living in fear of the axe-wielding man, who was allegedly assaulted to death by his brothers.

This was the revelation by Samkeliso Msibi, who is accused of being one of the two men behind the tragic assault of their brother, Nkosiyazi Ngcweliso Msibi. Nkosiyazi was beaten to death allegedly by his brothers at Dvudvusini on Sunday. He later succumbed to the injuries on Monday while admitted to Mankayane Government Hospital.

According to court records, the accused was in the company of Mancoba Mangwe when they saw the deceased walking out of the family homestead through the gate. It was mentioned that it had been about a week since the deceased had been home and was wanted by Mankayane police for assaulting Mangwe, who is a tenant, with a bush knife and an axe.

The accused reportedly disclosed that the police requested him to assist them to arrest his brother. It was said that they informed the community police members, who were reportedly afraid, to avail themselves to arrest him. The accused revealed that when they met his brother, he drew an axe and threatened to kill them.

The court records further revealed that the deceased then threatened to kill his family, including his parents, with a spear, for advising the tenant to report a case of malicious injury to property, which he was out on bail for. “The deceased would threaten to kill our parents and add that he would apply for bail. He said he was not afraid of Magistrate Zwane, and that the High Court would grant him bail,” sated the court records.

It was also highlighte­d that the deceased told them he would then take over rental places at Mahlabatsi­ni and become rich. The records stated that in an attempt to capture their brother, he escaped and stayed at the mountains.
