‘Report chiefs who charge for stamps’

-

MBABANE – “Report all chiefs who charge you E50 for stamp”.

This was said by Manzini Regional Secretary Arnold Dlamini, who was representing Chief Gija, the Regional Administrator (RA) at Lobamba Lomdzala marketplace, during the handover of the vegetable project yesterday.

He said the Manzini RA had requested all people in the region to report all chiefs who were charging their subjects money before getting stamps. He said since the day he pleaded with them to report, no one had come forward to launch any complaint. He said the silence had made him conclude that chiefs were not charging people in return for stamps.

He then pleaded with the residents to cooperate with each other to win the market.

Meanwhile, PS Dlamini pleaded with the corporation to keep the business running.

“I was sent by the minister to thank Lobamba Lomdzala residents for the project. He said your patience had paid off today as you are receiving the goods worth over E1 million,” said Dlamini.

She said the project was the first of its kind under the RDF.

Failing

“We do hope that the committee of the project will cooperate with us in pushing it forward. We must not allow the devil to laugh at us by failing along the way. I plead with the committee to follow the developed framework that will help take the project forward,”said the PS.

Mlungisi Mdlovu, the Chairperson of the corporation, said they were grateful for the project. He said they had submitted applications last year.

Mdlovu stated that the products came from South Africa and were ready for the market.

Mbiya Fakudze, speaking on behalf of Indlunkhulu, said the project committee and all the beneficiaries must continue operating the project and not falter along the way.

He then thanked the ministry for making the project a success.
