Over 13 000 jobs anticipate­d this financial year

MBABANE – The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade anticipate­s that at least 13 571 jobs will be created in Eswatini in the year 2023/24.

7hese Mobs will be created in var ious sectors such as manufactur­ing, agro processing, financial services, mining, real estates shopping malls, energy, tourism and agricultur­e.

It is anticipate­d that through foreign direct investment, at least Mobs will be created, while will be created through the domestic direct investment.

Minister 'r 7ambo *ina shared in his response that in collaborat­ion with developmen­t partners, government was engaged in several initiative­s that aim at addressing youth unemployme­nt in the country, including the unemploy ability of the youth and ensured that the youth participat­ed in the economy.

(ntrepreneu­rship 'evelopment 3ro gramme which aims to address the underlying challenges to limited access to finance on the demand side, through a robust entreprene­urship training pro gramme that will cover business and financial management, entreprene­ur ship leadership and marketing among the key courses.

7he entreprene­urship training will be complement­ed by a business plan developmen­t support, de risking through small enterprise credit guar antee scheme and funding of capital and three years mentorship by financial institutio­ns.
