MANZINI- A security guard under the employ of Crime Stop was arrested together with a Pick n Pay merchandis­er for purportedl­y stealing baby formula worth E1 529.89.

7he accused persons reportedl\ stole a /actogen bab\ formula worth E 5. 1an 1o. formula Yalued at E 76. as well as a 1espra\ formula worth E 76 at 3icN n 3a\ +ub in 0an]ini. 7he Ng bab\ formulas were allegedl\ stolen on $pril and were in the lawful possession 0bongiseni Khumalo the 0anager.

Worth noting is that the first accused is pregnant and in motiYating her applicatio­n for bail in her preYious appearance she disclosed that she had a three-\ear-old child. 7he accused also reYealed that she was a sicNl\ pregnant woman who was eight months pregnant. 6he said she was the sole breadwinne­r and was emplo\ed at 3icN n 3a\ as a merchandis­er.

2n the other hand the second accused said he had a pre-school going child and a mother who were dependant on him. 7he accused reYealed that he was emplo\ed at &rime 6top 6ecurit\. 7he accused persons were each granted bail fixed at E765.

0eanwhile when submitting eYidence before court 3icN n 3a\ 0an]ini 0anager Khumalo said the first accused had been worNing at the retail store for about three to four \ears. +e further mentioned that the second accused was a securit\ guard under &rime 6top 6ecurit\ stationed at 3icN n 3a\ for about six months. 7he manager explained that the guard¶s duties inYolYed preYenting stocN from being stolen and aYoiding an\ crime.
