Uncle Waffles to return to Coachella
JOHANNESBURG - Lungelihle ‘Uncle Waffles’ Zwane will return to Coachella this coming weekend for her fourth performance in Indio, California.
This past weekend, the DJ shot up trends lists, with many praising her for delivering a great performance with choreography and high energy in a sparkly pink jumpsuit, despite experiencing some technical difficulties, when kicking off her United States (US) tour at Coachella.
Uncle Waffles made history with her performance as she became the first Amapiano DJ to grace the main stage in a prime-time slot, before Bad Bunny’s performance on the Sonora stage.
On Saturday, Uncle Waffles was introduced as the surprise act on the Do-Labs stage to an unsuspecting audience and wrapped up the eventful weekend with another set at the Coachella after-party at Zenyara.
Fans are anticipating how Uncle Waffles will again shut down Coachella tomorrow. “I’m in this position, and it’s not by mistake,” she told Billboard
Black Coffee delivered an hour-long set at the festival’s Sahara tent.
Banele and Bandile Mbere of Major League DJz also got to perform on two stages at Coachella.
“It’s been a crazy journey and we would love to thank every single person who has been behind us through it all. ‘Piano to the world’ was a phrase we believed in so much so that it changed our lives,” they said in a statement.
‘This is just the beginning. There’s still so much work to do. The door stays open for kids coming after us.
“Black child your dreams are valid. Let’s dream as a nation because, wow, the doors are open wide and the world is ready to embrace Africa.”
