ESA gears up for CANA ZONE IV Championship
MBABANE – Eswatini Swimming Association (ESA) national team is currently in camp in preparation for the CANA ZONE IV Championships, set to take place in Angola next month.
The four-day championships are billed for Luanda, Angola, from May 3, this year. A total of 17 swimmers will dive into the swimming pool to compete with others from various countries in this year’s African Swimming Confederation (CANA) Zone IV Swimming Championships, next month. The competition will feature teams from around the region comprising boys and girls aged 11 years and older in different categories.
ESA Secretary General (SG) Nozipho Mahlalela said her office was determined to ensure that the swimmers were ready for Angola. “This camp also aims to bond the athletes and their coaches, as they represent different clubs which are Sharks, Griffin and Swim Lab. We are so grateful to all the parents who contributed towards the success of this camp; the swimmers have displayed a high level of dedication. Angola will not know what hit them; they will be dodging our bubbles,” she said.
Eswatini will flex it out against the likes of Botswana, Comoros, Lesotho, Namibia, Madagascar, South Africa, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Seychelles, Zambia and hosts Angola at the annual event.
