-

MANZINI - “There are other concerns beside the unrest,” says Ekuthuleni Chiefdom Councillor Sebuso Dlamini.

7he chiefdom councillor said as an inkhundla council, they had not received complaints from community members, but they had tried to look into the matter of the fuel being sold at the market stall.

He said besides the unrest, there was a fire at the market stall where the fuel was sold, as they also sold µchicken dust¶. In that regard, he said anything could happen and the forests in the surrounding areas could be reduced into ashes.

After that, the chiefdom councillor was asked if they had engaged the member of the State security organs over their concerns, and he said they had not. However, he highlighted that at royal kraal level, they had talked about it. He added that since this publication had raised it, they would have to engage him.

2n the other hand, 0angcongco 0ember of Parliament (0P) 2neboy =ikalala highlighted the challenges that were faced by the community members and from surrounding areas, regarding the unavailability of a functional filling station.

Address

He said he had selected a task team to address the issue of Puma )illing Station, which was not operating because of a dispute between the supplier and its operators. He said he had also engaged the (swatini (nergy 5egulatory Authority ((S(5A) and the supplier (Puma) over the filing station. He said Puma said it was owed by the operators and (S(5A recommended that if there was no solution, he should write a letter to the authority and it could close it.

However, he said he had since handed over the matter to a task team to address it because he did not want to be seen as someone who wanted to close down the filling station. He said he would only write the letter to (S(5A once the task team had failed to find a solution and he would base his correspondence on the select committee¶s report.

2therwise, he said following the situation about the unavailability of fuel in the area, he could be happy to see someone providing the service to the communities.
