Imisebe makes commitment to writers

MANZINI - At least 25 young authors will be empowered to ensure that their work stays relevant and durable.

The empowermen­t is courtesy of Imisebe 3ublishing Company, through a two day workshop for the authors, which began yesterday. The work shop was held at the Caritas Centre in 0an]ini.

The partnershi­p with young authors was announced by Imisebe 0anaging 'irector (0') +lobisile Stromvig during the commemorat­ion of :orld %ook and Copyright 'ay 2 2 at $lcon +ouse yesterday. Stromvig stated that as a local publisher, the local theme, being, µIndigenou­s /anguages,’ reso nated well with their obMective of pro moting and preserving siSwati through published works. The 0' alluded that Imisebe was passionate about literacy issues and part of its mandate was to inculcate the reading culture of the na tion, especially the youth.³It is for this reason that Imisebe found it fit to mark the occasion by hosting a writers’ work shop, which begins today (

She went on to express Imisebe’s ex citement about the entries they received when the invitation went out, adding that of the applicatio­ns received, the company identified the 25 who would be participat­ing in the author training workshop. Stromvig said they were confident that the exercise would yield positive fruits. 0eanwhile, the 0' said they were celebratin­g authors in the publishing business, who were core in the book industry, as their employers.
