MBABANE – Last weekend is one Way Inn would like to quickly forget after disastrous results to bottom loggers Q Potters and mid-table Figaredo.
Those were the biggest upsets in the Dixie’s International Pool League so far after 11 matches have been played.
The star-studded Way, who were expected to have it easy and extend their lead at the summit against rookies Q Potters, who knew nothing about victory in nine games as well as against Figaredo shockingly lost both matches.
Potters registered their first and historic win as they came out 13-11 victors, while Figaredo had a narrow escape as they won 13-12. The upsets saw Way Inn drop from first to second, while Manzini Pool Club (MPC) took the summit but they are all level on 31 points after 11 games apiece.
It is for that reason that when they host Ntontozi tomorrow at 2pm, they will be aiming for a good result, and definitely nothing less than four points as news coming from their camp is that they will be out for a bonus win.
Stunned
On third is Ludzeludze 1, who stunned MPC 13-8 and further bashed Potters 13-3 last Sunday. Correctional Services still need to find their rhythm as they lost once again 6-13; against Bhunya, while defending champions Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) Pool Club humiliated Correctional 13-1.
Meanwhile, Manzini Regional Pool Association (MRPA) Secretary Musa Dlamini said the league games would be on again this weekend, with fixtures for tomorrow and Sunday confirmed.
Siyabonga ‘Siya’ Dlamini and Wandile ‘Wawa’ Ndzinisa thrilled after pocketting E2 000 for beating runners-up Ebenezer Mbingo and Makhosini Mthupha 5-4 in the Billiards and Games Arena Pool Doubles Knockout Tournament final on Tuesday.
