MBABANE – Joana Johannah Namdlangu Masilela, one of three remaining siblings from No.43 KwaMagogo, has died.

Number 43, Trelawney Park, a modest house in a suburb of Manzini, Swaziland (now Eswatini), was for many years a vital base of operations for the African National Congress (ANC). The house was known as KwaMagogo (‘place of the grandmother’), after Rebecca Makgomo Masilela provided sustenance and support to the cadres who operated from Eswatini during the liberation struggle in the Republic of South Africa.

Joana passed on in her sleep, on the morning of April 29, 2023.

The now remaining siblings are Lucky and Elias from a family of nine siblings.

Joana will be laid to her final resting place on Saturday at Ntabamhloshana after a vigil on Friday, May 5, 2023. A memorial service will be held on Friday at Number 43, Trelawney Park, KwaMagogo, starting at 12:30pm.

In an interview with one of the remaining siblings, Elias stated that the Pretoria Church Street
