Mother of All Gospel

MANZINI – The Mother of All Gospel Shows live recording and performanc­es show kept Gospel fans entertaine­d until 6am in the morning.

The show was held at Mavuso Trade and Exhibition &entre Main Hall on Saturday, it was attended by over 600 Gospel fans. The show marked the of ficial live recording of 14 Rising Star Talent Search winners. Eswatini TV broadcaste­d the show live. The man behind the concept is local Gospel artist Ndundu]o Matse. The M&s of the day were M]wakhe ‘Tjovitjo’ Khumalo and Pamela ‘Figurebelt’ Zwane.

Vibrant performanc­es were galore during this event, which was kicked off by local Gospel artist Banele Dlamini, just before 8pm. Fans got closer to the stage area when she set foot on stage. Her performanc­e was enjoyed by most fans as they sang along with her while dancing. Her performanc­e was followed by that of Bheleka]i, who also made a bold statement on stage with her powerful vocals for 10 minutes.

Stage

She handed over the stage to musi cian Mcebo Nkambule. Gospel fans were continuous­ly glued to the stage during these performanc­es, while some were making their way into the venue.

More local musicians showcased their tal ent, these included Lin da Dlamini, 8sindiso lama:esile, Ndawonye &hrist :orshi pers, Gcebile Nkambule, Ntandoyenk hosi Ngcapha lala, Prophetic Voice Mass &hoir, Make Siwela, Nothan do Dlamini, Sphiwo Ndoni, Portia Praise, Fa ka]i Samuel as well as the 14 as piring musicians, who recorded their demos dur ing the show.

The rainbow nation, widely known as South Africa (SA), was also represente­d by well celebrated Gos pel musicians such as the likes of Sbu Noah, Mpumi Mtsweni, &a naan Nyathi, Xolisa Kwinana, Mu]i Zimu, Thina Zungu as well as his son Ndumiso Zungu, who shared the stage with him during the show.

Excitement

The first musician to perform among this group was &anaan Nyathi. Screams and excitement filled the main hall at at Mavuso

Trade and Exhibi tion &en tre when &anaan set foot on stage. Fans reached out to him and shook hands with him be fore he performed. He was all smiles when on stage due to the love and excitement displayed by fans while seeing him. Nyathi gave them a heat ed performanc­e in return for the love shown to him by fans. His performanc­e lasted for 20 minutes and ex ited the stage to make way for Mu]i Zimu, who is the son of the late Gospel artist Neyi Zimu.

Performanc­e

He also received a warm wel come from fans. His performanc­e was vibrant and captivatin­g and he sag his father’s famous hit songs including ‘Jehova retsephile wena’, but in his own version. He wowed fans with the modern Amapi ano dance moves, which he displayed during his performanc­e. Fans shouted at the top of their voices and danced with him during his performanc­e. Zimu performed for over 20 minutes and made way for Gospel sensation Mpumi Mtsweni. Her eloquent vocals were loved by fans and they wor shiped with her until she exited the stage after 20 minutes as well. She was followed by Thina Zungu and his son Ndumiso Zungu. These two were a hit on the stage and they apparently stole the show as fans didn’t want them to exit the stage when their time was up. During their performanc­e, Ndumiso Zungu would sometimes lead his father on some of the songs, while also showcasing dance moves which were inspired by Amapiano. Thina Zungu had to take the microphone from his son and grab him off stage to make way for Xolisa Kwinana, who also gave a marvellous performanc­e. Sbu Noah was the last SA act to perform. He graced the stage at 4.25am and performed for over 30 minutes as fans kept asking for more. He was energetic on stage and fans loved him. He exited the stage after pleading with fans as they did not want him to exit. Ndawonye &hrist :orshipers handled the rest and took over the stage until 6am in the morning. Most fans were still awake and dancing to their perfor mance, they started exiting the venue when dawn had broke just after 6am.
