AG’s massive reshuffle of government lawyers

MBABANE ± There has been a considerab­le shuffling of lawyers within the Office of the Attorney General.

Sources within the office told the Times SUNDAY that the reshuffle was an impromptu one and took everyone by surprise.

Attorney General Sifiso Khumalo said the rotation and promotion of members of staff was normal and necessary to increase productivi­ty and capacity. He said there was nothing untoward with the reshuffle, but to help the officers gain overall appreciati­on of the broader government operations and improve their problem solving skills.

“We believe staff who are rotated or promoted are motivated in their work resulting in improved overall performanc­e,” the AG said, while stating that this was a celebrated labour practice. He confirmed at least 13 officers who had been affected by the reshuffle.

moved from the Ministry of Health to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Internatio­nal Cooperatio­n; Noluthando ;aba has been pro

moted to the Ministry of Health; Lungile Magagula-Magongo has

ascended to the Director of Legal Aid, from being Legal Advisor at the Elections and %oundaries Commission (E%C);

Mbuso Dlamini has been promoted

to legal advisor at the E%C; Nomalanga Gule has been promoted

● to Legal Advisor in the Auditor General’s Office;

John Mavuso has been promoted

to Legal Advisor in the Ministry of Justice and Constituti­onal Affairs; Dumsile Mamba has moved to the

Deputy Prime Minister’s Office from the Ministry of Education and Training;

Lucky Vilakati has been moved

to the Ministry of Education and Training from the DPM’s Office; Welile Mkhatjwa has been moved

from the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) to the Ministry of Tinkhundla;

Futhi Magagula has been promoted

to Legal Advisor at the TSC; Lungile Mamba has been pro

moted to Senior Legal Officer Trade;

Nozipho Vilakati is now Legal

Advisor at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy;

Lloyd Mzizi is now legal advisor

at the Ministry of Economic Planning and Developmen­t.

The AG said this list may not be

exhaustive as this was an ongoing process.
