Hopes of Zuma joining EFF

J2HANNESBU­RG - EFF leader Julius Malema says he hopes the party, which he referred to as µa home of rehabilita­tion’, will soon welcome former president Jacob Zuma into its ranks. He was speaking at the EFF’s 10th anniversar­y celebratio­ns in the Western Cape, shortly after former Cabinet spokespers­on Mzwanele Manyi announced he had ditched the African Transforma­tion Movement (ATM) for the EFF.

Another truck accident

DURBAN - Five trucks collided in yet another crash on the N3 southbound in Hilton, KwaZulu-Natal, leaving one injured.

Midlands EMS, which responded to the scene yesterday morning, said initial reports were that three trucks were involved. However, it turned out to be five. Roland Robertson from Midlands EMS said the injured person was treated before being taken to hospital. ³We don’t know what happened. Trucks were backed up in the slow lane. It could be that one of the trucks failed to stop and collided with others. The slow lane was closed while authoritie­s cleared the crash,” said Robertson.

Stampede in court

J2HANNESBU­RG - There was drama at the 3rotea Magistrate Court on Friday when dozens of community members tried to storm the courtroom where two people arrested in connection with the murders of two Soweto boys appeared for bail applicatio­n. 3olice had to stand by the door and only allow family members, close friends and community leaders into the courtroom due to limited space in the public gallery. Thereafter, about 15 police officers stood by the door to prevent people outside from getting in. In a packed courtroom, Nqobile Ndlovu, 50, and her partner Mthunzi Zulu, 39, made their second appearance after they were arrested last week.
