MANZINI – “We are not coming to Eswatini to be involved in political turmoil or be seen as a source of political trouble.”

These were the words of the United Nations and Religion (158) World Organisation Mission Representative in the Kingdom of Eswatini, Nicolas Atumisi Feruzi Milabyo.

The representative was speaking dur ing an interview, where he was giving an insight about the new organisation that will establish a branch in the coun try. He stated that the organisation’s main mandate was to improve people’s lives and community through partner ship with governments. He said their main objective was to promote peace among people of different ethnicity and religious groups. The 158 is an organisation that promotes peace in the world.

Organisation

He explained that the organisation was formed after the pioneers noted the collapse of moral, political, and reli gious ethics that resulted in imbalances across countries in the world, constituting a real threat to world peace.

“Several plenipotentiaries repre senting nations, religions and the various associative movements of civil society around the world, the delegates to the trans diplomatic con ference convened for the first time in

in Cairo, (gypt by the steering committee of the trans national panel of organisations. The populations of the globe decided on the basis of the creation of a new federal universal order with supranational competence, referred to as the organisation,´ he said.

Milabyo said the conference was attended by chief plenipotentiaries 6tates and governments, appointed representatives of their nations, dignitaries, religious leaders, and movements of spiritual representatives of the religions of the world and representatives of mass organisations of global civil society.

It was on May , , in Canberra, Australia that the organisation was cre ated by a declaration called )ounding Act of Canberra. He said it was then followed by a collective ratification protocol of October , , under the magisterial presidium of the federated peoples of the territorial countries of the nations and religions of the world community of greater universal human family. He said the organisation was in countries in the world to date. He explained that last year they presented themselves to government, where they presented their letters to the Minister of Home Affairs Princes Lindiwe. The mission representative showed pictures where they were presenting the letter that was from the headquarters to the minister last year in -une. Commu nications Officer in the Ministry of Home Affairs Mlandvo Dlamini said it was encouraged that organisations, before being established, were known by government, in particular, faith based organisations. Milabyo said they followed all the laws of each country where they were making a footprint. He said inasmuch as most of their work was self funded, they were very much aware that as advocates of peace and harmony, it was crucial to form strong ties with government.

Regions

He stated that they would be working in communities across the country through offices that would be scattered in the four regions with the headquar ters being in Mbabane.

Milabyo added that all the projects they would be implementing in com munities will accommodate the diver sity of people. “Our mission does not discriminate people, all religion and cultural value are welcomed,´ he said.

The representative said they were aware of the political status of the coun try, but stated that they were not here to get involved in politics but simply to promote a spirit on oneness in the mist of commotion.

He said they strongly believed that no matter how much people held different views about certain subjects, there was a way they could work in harmony and achieve a common goal. Meanwhile, the organisation’s Vice Chancellor in the 6outhern African Development Community (SADC) region Millius Simelane added that they would engage in socio economic issues but that did not necessarily mean they would be a member of a political party. “:e will be ensuring that the voiceless’ voices are heard,´ he said.
