MBABANE - The Get Bucks financial services provider has come up with an innovative financing package that is a first in the country of Eswatini.

Get Bucks is now offering a water borehole facility through which emaSwati nationals can now drill for water at their homesteads or business premises at an affordable rate.

Head of Sales at Get Bucks Thulani Dlamini, said the borehole financing package starts at E 40 000 and has a ceiling of E 250 000. He said the repayment period was between six and 12 months.

“In order for a client to qualify, they should submit a quotation, a recent payslip, a three-month bank statement, proof of residence, a national identification number (ID), and an employment letter. The Get Bucks borehole financing package offers everything from drilling to installation, and one need only visit their nearest branch in order to get financing,” he said.

The Chief Operating Officer (CEO) of Get Bucks, Madoda Mngomezulu, also indicated that they were trying to live up to their tagline of helping clients balance life and money. Traditionally, he said, financial credit providers just dish out money without knowing or caring what it is used for.

“This financial package that we have assembled is an example of how loans from Get Bucks can be utilised. Towards this end, we have partnered with people who have the expertise both in Eswatini and South Africa to make sure of success,” he said.

Get Bucks started operating in 2014, and its operational model is to offer credit to salaried employees. There are two ways that clients can repay their loans. The first is through a deduction at the source product, and the second is by way of a debit order.

In order to ensure that clients receive the service that they have paid for, Get Bucks has struck up a strategic partnership with a drilling company as well as an installation company.

The Director of My Cup Drilling Company, which has partnered with Get Bucks, Bongani Masuku, said: “Our activity has mainly been in the Manzini Region, but we are looking to expand with more drilling rigs and to move to other areas where there is a demand. We cater for non-governmental organisations (NGO), farmers, and individuals, and we make sure that people get clean water.” Sihle Gwebu, who represents the Mangethe Group that provides the installation of the pipes, tank stands, water tanks, and taps to ensure that there’s running water, is also pleased with the partnership. “We are optimistic about the future. A lot of people want to have boreholes, but the problem they encounter is financing. So the package that Get Bucks has put together will benefit many people who want to have clean, potable water,” she added. The Get Bucks brand is currently undergoing an upgrade, which involved the relocation of their Manzini branch from the Riverstone Mall to the new Manzini Junction Shopping Complex in the Central Business District (CBD). In Nhlangano, they have moved from the Nhlangano Mall to a new shopping complex on Masengula Road.
