“First we need to establish that the PPA is constituted by different political parties and these parties are autonomous organisations and have the power to make their own decisions. Each party has its own congress, where they develop their charter and make their own resolutions. Some of the parties under our umbrella made congress decision to participate in the upcoming election while others made resolutions to oppose the election. If we were to take a stand then, against one or the other, we would risk dividing the organisation. We encourage our members to stand by their congress resolution so that we are not seen to be meddling within the party lines,” said PPA Deputy Head of Secretariat Thami Hlatshwayo.

“Could the ministry ensure that all the elective positions in an inkhundla, for instance, bucopho, indvuna yenkhundla and Member of Parliament etc, be all elected and concluded at secondary level on the same day, so that there will be no influence on the election process by bucopho or anyone else,” said EBC Communications Officer Mbonisi Bhembe.

“At around 9am, some of the family members went to look for her but she was nowhere to be found,” said a sister of the UNESWA student who committed suicide.

“We engaged Eswatini MTN, Eswatini Mobile and Eswatini Posts and Telecommunications Corporation to ensure that there were no network glitches,” said Mbonisi Bhembe.

“Not participating in the national elections will not solve anything, because the current regime will elect a legitimate government to be in power for the next five years,” said Sive Siyinqaba. Publicity Secretary Vusi Nxumalo.
