Monáe left tongues wagging on Twitter after videos of herself half-naked made rounds. In one video, Janelle was on stage performing when she suddenly pulled up her T-shirt and showed the audience her titties.

While many people slammed her for public nudity, some applauded her, saying she is in her era of nudity and sexual liberation. The music star seemed unbothered by the comments as she Twitted: “Titties out for the next 15 years.

Reacting to Janelle’s video, @ AjuAnya wrote: “Janelle Monáe’s newfound dedication to public nudity is a marvel to behold. May she continue to be blessed with good lighting and premium moisturiser.” The singer is set to release her second album titled The Age of Pleasure next month, five years since she released her debut album, Dirty Computer.

Ahead of the album release, Janelle released her new single called Lipstick Lover. The album features other songs, including Float ft. Seun Kuti and Egypt 80, Champagne Shot and Black Sugar Beach.

During her interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, she said that all the songs on the album were written from an honest space.

“So I hope that people feel that when they listen to the music, that they feel that when they come and, you know, counter with me when I’m around, I definitely have had an opportunity to evolve and grow and to tap into the things that bring me pleasure, the things that perhaps I should rethink and rework.”

The 37-year-old singer has also built a solid acting career for herself. She has appeared in many movies, including Hidden Figures, Lady and the Tramp, Harriet and Moonlight, just to mention a few.
