TAMBANKULU – Young Buffaloes Ladies have defended their league title in style after thrashing Tambankulu Callies Ladies by 7-0.

Young Buffaloes have been dominant for the last two seasons, stamping their authority in every game; the army side has repeated their brilliant performance from last season, adding a couple more goals to their already overwhelming scoring tally. After Amathole Ezinyathi put seven past Callies this past Saturday at Tambankulu Stadium, it then puts their goal tally for the season at 180. This means Buffaloes have scored over five goals in each of the last 24 matches.

Prepared

The army side came prepared in their closing away game, where they gave their hosts a 7-0 beating. When Buffaloes scored their fifth goal in the 76th minute, it caused a stir for the Callies backline, as their full back went as far as throwing a small object at her goalkeeper,

These were some of the negative signs that Callies showed during their fixture.

The army side, who are now armed with a ticket for representing the country in the regional Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) tournament, were in a jovial mood as the referee blew the final whistle.

Buffaloes boast a vast amount of experience within their camp; they have played together for a number of years now, as well as have competed outside the country, which automatically affords them even more experience that they have used accordingly to win the league for the second time in two years.
