MBABANE – Some of the biggest DJs in SA, Kabza De Small and Morda Bongz have been added to the 2023 MTN Bushfire line-up.
Hot on the heels of the announcement of a fire list of performing artists from both local and international acts, the globally followed show has added these acts, adding on to the Amapiano and House genre, and both have been added to the Ballantine’s stage alongside the four Firefly stage winners who will also have an opportunity to perform on the stage namely ; Viwe (SA), Naardie (SA), Yung Tempo (Eswatini) and M Nation (Eswatini). Kabelo Petrus Motha, professionally known as Kabza De Small, is a South African DJ and record producer. He is a major figure in the Amapiano genre of House music. Aside from his solo career, Motha is a member of the Scorpion Kings alongside DJ Maphorisa. On the other hand, Morda Bongz, whose real name is Bongani Mohosana, is a renowned South African entertainment personality. He has risen to prominence for his exceptional skills as a recording artist and a music producer. The leading Joburg-born artist is also popular for being a member of Black Motion.
Globally infused, authentically African and proudly Eswatini, MTN Bushfire is one of Africa’s largest multicultural gatherings, illuminating the transformational power of the arts through our call to action for positive social and environmental change, #BRINGYOURFIRE. This year the festival will be held from May 26 to 28 at the House on Fire at Malandela’s.
In true MTN Bushfire style, the lineup this year will feature a wholesome and family-friendly mix of pan-African and international artists from across different genres who do more than simply entertain but use their art as a powerful form of creative expression. The two added artists are also a reflection of the diversity that the event believes in.
MBABANE – Nhlonipho returns to the airwaves with ‘Oh Mama’, a collaboration with Martin Khan from Cameroon and Mo-T from Micasa.
Nhlonipho Dlamini has always worked well with his colleagues and delivers on every tune he contributes to and he’s back now with a new collaboration with Martin Khan.
Martin Khan, the exceptionally talented artist hailing from Cameroon, has been making waves in the music industry with his captivating collaborations and unique sounds.
Having worked with renowned talents such as ‘He Produced It’ from Cape Town, Chukido, and Nhlonipho, Martin Khan is now focusing on his upcoming projects, which promise to be nothing short of extraordinary.
Among these exciting endeavours is his recent joint effort with the prodigious Jazz pianist, producer, and singer Nhlonipho, featuring the vibrant contributions of Mo-T from Micasa on live instruments and the melodious touch of Franky the guitarist.
Collaboration
Their collaboration resulted in the awe-inspiring track, ‘Oh Mama,’ which made its grand debut on May 8, perfectly timed to coincide with Mother’s Day weekend.
“Oh Mama is actually so dear to my heart as it was released on my mother’s birthday and it was the perfect release for mother’s day,” mentioned Nhlonipho.
With heartfelt dedication to mothers, ‘Oh Mama’ is a touching tribute from sons who seek to express their love and appreciation in the most profound way possible. Martin Khan, with his distinctive blend of Afro-beat, sweet R&B, and Francophone soul, infuses the track with his unmistakable musical prowess, creating a harmonious ode to both mothers and the rich tapestry of Mother Africa.
Nhlonipho previously teamed up with Robot Boii on the ‘Yithi Sonke’ EP. The project housed seven tracks and featured contributions from TitoW, Mac Lopez, ilovelethu, PD Jokes, Teekay, Sje Konka, S.O.N, Chukido, Kaynyc, and more. They all did a stunning job on the project.
