MBABANE – Chairperson of the King’s Advisory Council (Liqoqo), Paul Dlamini, has advised emaSwati to think very carefully of the caliber of people they will give to the King to work with.

The chairperson said this after registering for the national elections. The Election and Boundaries Commission (EBC) was registering members of the King’s Advisory Council (Liqoqo) at Lozitha Palace yesterday.

Dlamini said the electorate should elect someone who will take care of the needs of the nation and have the best interest of the nation at heart. He said emaSwati should elect someone who would work well in Parliament and pass laws that would bring peace to the nation. He stated that the King had commissioned and was expecting every liSwati to register for the national elections.

Development

He also reminded emaSwati that Eswatini had relations with other countries, further noting that each state had its own governance and Parliament that oversaw the wellness of their people, passed laws and looked at how their development was proceeding. “EmaSwati should choose people who will do the same for them and for the nation,” he said.

The chairman said it was time for the country to be among other developed countries by being united. Dlamini said he was looking forward to the day when there would be no poor or needy people but everyone got what they wanted.

The chairman was joined by other member of Liqoqo in Princess Ncengencenge, Prince Mabandla, Mandla Dlamini, Bishop Nash Shongwe, and former Commissioner General of His Majesty Correctional Services (HMCS) Isaiah Mzuthini Ntshangase.

Senior government officials, including Cabinet ministers and principal secretaries in the different ministries, recently joined the thousands of emaSwati, who have registered for the upcoming general elections.
